Your first step in planting food plots should be your soil test this is the most important step that determines how well your food plot will do. This year we planted whitetail institute no-plow, whitetail institute bowstand and whitetail institute forage oats. This is our first year trying throw and grow food plot we didn\'t have access to a tractor so all of our plots were done using hand tools. We raked and removed grass and leaves from the plot and then spread seeds into the area. This area made a great kill plot and I will be adding more poor man plots and hidey hole food plots on our property.
