'It\'s time for you to take the trash out when it comes to producing high volume, quality and weed free food plots on your small deer hunting parcel. On small parcels, you can\'t afford to carry low volume weed filled food plots into the Fall. On large parcels, landowners can be less efficient with their food plot program, and still find marginal degrees of success. Other than wasting time, money and potential opportunity, a parcel size of more than 500-1000 acres allows landowners to do OK, because the land size begins to encompass and insulate the effects of their mistakes. However, success is not guaranteed for small parcel food plot programs unless those food plots are extremely strong throughout the entire hunting season. Weedy plots create extremely low volumes of food per acre. When the size of your parcel and the size of your food plots decrease, then the quality and volume of your food plots need to be at the highest level that you can create. Do yourself AND the local deer herd a favor, by creating weed free high volume food plots entering this Fall.
