'People in Western Louisville food deserts are coming together to by-pass the limited traditional mechanisms for accessing fresh produce (grocery stores, corner stores, farmers markets) by creating new distribution points. Called \"Fresh Stops\", these are places where people come together to negotiate directly with farmers for bulk produce which is then divided and offered to everyone in shares on a sliding scale fee.
