'This arrived in quite a small and colourful branded box with images of the steamer along with specifications, and usage details. Once opened you have a small instruction manual and everything is stacked and wrapped in plastic for protection. After unpacking everything I had a read through the manual which I found to be clear enough and easy to follow, along with having a numbered diagram for parts identification. I gave everything a good clean along with running the steamer with just water and no food for 5 minutes to remove any manufacturing taint. I cooked some fish on the bottom level, mixed fresh carrots and green beans on the middle level, and rice in the supplied bowl on the top. The timer on the base is a twist dial, and in my opinion would be impossible to get an exact cooking time with. I found it did a really good job of cooking everything although I did need to add an extra five minutes to ensure the rice was fully cooked. Cleaning after use is a case of washing all the removable parts and emptying any remaining water from the base then wiping it out to clean. I thought the material used for the main stacks of the steamer quite thin so was careful when washing and stacking them. I have used the steamer several times since it arrived and I like that it can be used with one, two or all three stacks depending on what you are planning to cook. The timing I found to be more of a judgment than exact time set, and increasing was a simple case of adding a bit of extra time to the dial. Overall this is in my opinion a fairly simple but effective device that is easy to use that cleans and packs away quickly. I did think the plastic used for the steamer bowls could be thicker, and the cooking time setting was fairly basic, and could not be set for an exact time but overall I think this is a nice addition to the kitchen that works well.
