
'There is so much incorrect information out there about what is healthy and what we should be eating! Do you remember this food pyramid? This was the USDA food pyramid from 1992-2005, and I remember it vividly. This pyramid was everywhere, and was how many of us were taught that we should be eating. For 13 years, we were told that fat was the enemy and that we should try to eat as little fat as possible. And at the same time, we were told that we were supposed to be eating 6-11 servings of bread, cereal, rice and pasta a day. Now fast forward to today and let’s look at the keto pyramid, which is extremely popular, and basically the exact opposite. In this pyramid, carbs are demonized and the focus is on eating fat and protein. With our eating habits swinging from one extreme to the other, how do we know what is correct, and exactly what we should be eating to improve our health and lose weight permanently?
