The large steamer folds for compact and easy storage while semi-expanding to 15 centimeters and fully expanding to 27 centimeters. The detachable center post with ring allows you to easily lift the steamer from your cookware, and the footed base keeps the steamer elevated from boiling water. To use the steamer, simply cut your vegetables into small pieces. Add an inch of water to the pan and insert the steamer basket. Bring the water to a boil and add the veggies to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium, and steam the vegetables until tender. Remove the steamer from the pan, and serve your perfectly steamed veggies. Clean up is also a breeze. Simply place the Moderno Vegetable Steamer in hot soapy water and wash away any residue. Then allow the steamer to air dry. I am extremely happy with my new foldable steamer from Moderno!
