'In this video, Dr. Jay Mehta is going to explain about What is Low AMH(Anti Mullerian Hormone) and How to Increase Low AMH. Low AMH or Anti Mullerian Hormone level suggests that women’s ovarian reserve is rapidly declining and they must immediately seek fertility treatment if they are trying to get pregnant. Low AMH is an indicator of state of ovarian reserve. Let us understand more about Low AMH What causes low AMH? As we know , Females have two ovaries , one in the left and one in the right and these ovaries consists of Primordial Follicles . These Primordial follicles keep on reducing from the birth. That means as the age increases the value of AMH decreases because the total number of Primordial Follicles keep on decreasing with increasing age. In some women AMH levels starts declining in their 20s or 30s. This can be due to environmental factors such as cancer treatment, or down to inherited genetic causes. This Low AMH means low ovarian reserve and they should plan pregnancy as soon as possible. How to Increase Low AMH? There is no scientifically proven method or solution in order to increase the AMH level (ovarian reserve) but there is way to reduce the speed at which the reserve is getting used up. 1.Lifestyle modification to increase Low AMH To reduce the burnout speed of ovarian reserve one can do it with help of lifestyle modification. One of the lifestyle modification which is suggested to the women who are overweight is to lose their weight, which might reduce the burnout time of ovarian reserve. 2.Die to increase Low AMH The Dietary changes which may benefit the Low AMH patients are Olive Oil, Tofu, cheese and the chicken need to be included in the diet as they reduce the burnout time of ovarian reserve. This is also called as Mediterranean Diet in order to preserve ovarian reserve. 3. Medications to increase Low AMH There are androgenic compounds which are preferred and given to women who have Low AMH with the point of view that if these are administered these oral tablets given to the patient for approximately three months, this might reduce the burn out ovarian follicles in these 3 months and might help to get better follicle recruitment following this therapy. These therapies usually work when the AMH levels are at the borderline (women having AMH Value 1.2-1.5 the therapy might work, therapy might not work for women having AMH level below 1). Women should not get panic when they find out they have low AMH, there are many women who conceive naturally with Low AMH. The only thing that needs to be kept in mind is Low AMH means ovarian reserve capacity is slightly low, Which means these women should not delay conception if they are planning for pregnancy.
