'Waakye is a Ghanaian dish of cooked rice and beans, commonly eaten for breakfast or lunch and others eat it for supper. However, it\'s popular dish around West Africa. The rice and beans, usually black-eyed peas or cow beans, are cooked together, along with red dried sorghum leaf sheaths or stalks and limestone. Touring the Northern Region of Ghana, I\'m excited to share my experience of waakye preparation with our wonderful energetic African Mothers. Please do enjoy this episode of the street food series. I will be glad if you can please leave a comment with your feedback and what will you like to see in my next video
